TRUE CHRISTIANITY
There is nothing normal about Christianity. Everything about it goes against our natural instinct. It tells us to humble ourselves, to forgive others, to be the least, the last, the servant. It tells us not to desire riches or seek our own gains. It says we must suffer the wrongful treatment of others, we must do good to those who harm us, love those who hate us and pray for those who oppose us.
The truth is Christianity makes no natural sense – and it never will – not the kind of sense that makes any sense to us anyway. That is because Christianity is not from here, it does not belong here – it comes from heaven and it belongs to heaven – and all those who enter into it, become creatures of heaven too. Until we understand Christianity this way, until we know what that means and what it makes of us, we will never be able to enter into the life and death Jesus Christ came to offer us. True Christianity is a supernatural thing. True Christianity is the place heaven touches earth.
Too few people are told what conversion actually is, or by what means we become a Christian in the first place. As a result we have countless people who have adopted a moral code, a lifestyle, a belief system, yet know nearly nothing about the spiritual realities of a life in Christ. What a tragedy to be so close to the touch of God and yet to be without it.
If we are going to receive the extraordinary gift that God is offering us – we must do so on God's terms. He must tell us what it is, how to receive it, and how to abide in it. For that purpose He has given us the rich treasure of His Word. And to that end He has given us the matchless offering of His only begotten Son. Let's go on a journey together, discovering just what it is God has prepared for those who love Him.
